The MIPS system (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) integrates a special low-friction layer inside the helmet, designed to allow a slight multidirectional movement — typically between 10 and 15 mm — upon oblique impact. This movement helps dissipate part of the rotational forces before they are transmitted to the head.

Not all impacts occur head-on. Many crashes happen at an angle, generating rotational movement — one of the leading causes of concussions and serious head injuries.
