MIPS Technology
The MIPS system (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) integrates a special low-friction layer inside the helmet, designed to allow a slight multidirectional movement — typically between 10 and 15 mm — upon oblique impact. This movement helps dissipate part of the rotational forces before they are transmitted to the head.
MIPS by Briko
A selection of Briko helmets integrates MIPS technology, available in different configurations tailored to each model to optimize weight, ventilation, and comfort.
The Real Risk
Not all impacts occur head-on. Many crashes happen at an angle, generating rotational movement — one of the leading causes of concussions and serious head injuries. The brain, due to its gel-like properties, is particularly vulnerable to this type of stress.10–15 mm of movement. The difference that can make a difference.
Safety Standards
MIPS does not replace safety certifications — it is an additional layer of protection, aligned with the highest industry standards.
All Briko helmets featuring MIPS technology comply with the safety regulations and certifications required for the relevant market.
